Important Changes to Attendance and SMS Services

Starting Term 3, Albany Primary will transition to a new database and attendance system. This new system will automatically notify parents, guardians, and caregivers of any unexplained absences or late arrivals.

Key Change from Day 1 of Term 3 – 22 July 2025:

The current absentee text line will be deactivated. From this date, messages sent to the old number will no longer be received by the school.

Please delete the old absentee number from your contacts to avoid confusion.

With the new system, you will be able to log attendance notes for your child directly through an app. Login details and instructions on how to use the system will be shared early next term once school resumes.

In the meantime, you may begin receiving attendance-related messages that look different. They will include a secure link like the example below:

• The link is safe to use.
• You will have 48 hours to update your child's attendance through the link.
• Do not reply to the message—replies will not be received by the school.
• Always use the link provided in the message to report attendance.

Until your Compass login details are issued, please continue to email or call the school for any absences or advance attendance notifications.

Parents with students at multiple schools (e.g. primary and high school) can access all their children’s information using a single Compass app account.

To switch between schools in the app:

1. On the Home page, tap ‘More’ (bottom right corner).

2. Scroll down and select ‘Switch Accounts’.

3. The first time you do this, you’ll be asked to enter the login details (including the new password) for the additional school account.

4. Once added, you’ll be able to easily switch between both accounts within the app.
