Positive Behaviour Support
APS is a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) school. PBS is a school-wide framework that aims to increase academic performance, improve safety, decrease problem behaviour and maintain a positive school culture.
Our whole school behaviour expectations are:
Show Respect
Include Others
Be Safe
Personal Excellence
Together, our behaviour expectations make RISE. These behaviour expectations are defined by as common language in our behaviour matrix which was developed with students, staff and parents.
All students work towards earning rewards for demonstrating positive behaviours. Dojo points may be earned in class for a whole school raffle and classes earn points for their own.
RISE incentives when they demonstrate expected behaviours. These incentives contribute to House points, class rewards and whole school rewards.
We believe these positive behaviours will be demonstrated by all students, at all times.
All students begin each half term with Good Standing. By consistently displaying the RISE expectations, students will maintain their Good Standing and be able to attend special events or functions. If a student has not demonstrated our RISE expectations, a referral may be made to the office to follow up on the undesired behaviour and may result in a loss of Good Standing.
